COE graduation ceremonies honor
102 Alternative and Special Ed Students
SAN JOSE, CA – One hundred two students will be recognized in June graduation ceremonies of the Santa Clara County Office of Education.
The COE's Special Education Department will honor 31 students at a June 7 ceremony, and the Alternative Schools Department will honor 71 students on June 17.
Valedictorians at the Special Education graduation will be Kaleaha Maldonado, Carolyn Trevino, Alexander Quan Chu and Richard Anthony Valcazar. The WorkAbility I Student of the Year Award and the Principal's Award will be announced at the ceremony.
The musical portion of the ceremony, to be held at the Quinlan Center in Cupertino at 6 p.m., will feature the Post Senior Choir Choral Connections. Remarks will be delivered by Mary-Anne Bosward, director of Special Education at the COE.
The Alternative Schools ceremony will feature student speakers Valentina Cruz of Muriel Wright Center, Israel Domingo of Novo Community School, and Jesus Ruelas of Redemption Academy. David Sharp will sing the national anthem.
The welcoming address will be delivered by principal Jodi Disario, and Dr. Charles Weis, Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools, will be the keynote speaker. The ceremony, which starts at 6 p.m., will take place at the Cathedral of Faith's Horton Youth Center Auditorium in San Jose.
